You spoke of oranges and pomegranates, and moonlight on the Sea of Galilee
Where your party stood alone – though perhaps, accompanied
Amongst hallowed landmarks where great religions were forged,
Where our Savior said he brought, not peace, but a sword
And still brings turmoil to the region and all places –
A side-effect of hearts that know both good and evil’s faces.
It’s a polarity that drives humanity
Both to – and back from – insanity,
Leaving no depths unknown
In the Spirit, or in our earthly home.
