Prepare for the King

It began with a prophecy uttered long ago
Bringing hope to a people that fell from grace
That the Son of God would come to Earth
And not only show us His heavenly Face
But also offer Himself up for our sins
So the Heavenly gates would open to the human race

But first He would come to us
As nothing more than a little baby
And prophets foretold that His place of birth
Would be in Bethlehem, there was no maybe
The greatest Love would come to Earth
Born of a pure and virginal lady

Rejoice, rejoice, for He is on His way
The voice in the wilderness is crying out
Make straight the way of the Lord
For He is near, there is no doubt
And shepherds who watched their flock that night
Get the joyous news first from a choral shout

Peace on Earth to men of goodwill
Is the chorus the choir of angels sing
Your God and Savior is nearby
Stop what you are doing, drop everything
Only concentrate on being prepared
And be on your way to see the newborn King
