La Grêle

By J.C. Ellis (Rated G)

Look! O Look, lad! The land doth die!
Dark is come and has swept the sky!
Frost falls and the flowers do fade.
Cumbrous clouds cover us with shade
Burying our joy with cold grief!
Thole long we must without relief!
Relief of snow and ice shan’t come
‘Til the warm rays of spring are come!
